BioWare looking for new recruits at GDC

March 4th, 2005 (12:11pm) - BioWare Corp. announced its plans today to continue the expansion of its development teams for its future video-game projects. The Edmonton-based company is actively recruiting for a variety of positions across numerous disciplines, and will be taking those recruitment efforts across North America in the upcoming months.

From March 7-11, 2005, BioWare will be attending the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, California, where hopeful recruits will have the opportunity to learn more about the company and its games, as well as the positions available, which include 3D graphics programmers, technical artists, senior writers, and many others. Interested candidates are encouraged to visit BioWare at the GDC Career Pavilion, Booth 365 or the BioWare website at jobs.bioware.com

BioWare is gearing up for the April 14 release of Jade Empire, a martial-arts action role-playing game (action-RPG) for the Xbox, to be published by Microsoft. The game is set in a brand new world created and owned by BioWare, and is among the most anticipated games of 2005. Future BioWare titles include Dragon Age, BioWare’s next epic RPG revolution for the PC, as well as an additional unannounced title, both of which are also based in new worlds created and owned entirely by BioWare. BioWare’s Technology Architecture Group (TAG) is also developing the company’s next-generation game-engine technology for PC and console, the BioWare Eclipse Engine.

"BioWare is an amazing place to work for people with a passion for excellence in video-game development," said Lesley Menzies, BioWare’s Director of Human Resources. "The company’s core values of Quality in our Products and Quality in our Workplace have been reinforced by countless product-specific awards, as well as BioWare being named amongst Canada’s Top 100 Employers in 2004 and 2005."

In addition to its presence at the Game Developers Conference, BioWare will be visiting college and university campuses across North America this spring to attract recruits to join its team. Those unable to attend these events are encouraged to visit the BioWare jobs website at http://jobs.bioware.com to see a listing of available positions.
