GDC: Nintendo unleashes new screenshots of Nintendogs and Yoshi’s Touch & Go

March 9th, 2005 (3:44pm) - Nintendo is gearing up for Nintendo President Satoru Iwata’s Game Developers Conference keynote and kicking off today’s first media update of many games coming up for Nintendo’s game platforms is new images of the Nintendo DS games Nintendogs and Yoshi’s Touch & Go.

Nintendogs is a simulation for the Nintendo DS which has players raising puppies, playing with them and all other sorts of wacky things. The game had supposedly been renamed for its North American release to "Puppy Times," however Nintendo’s press site has the game once again listed as Nintendogs for the time being.

Yoshi’s Touch & Go is a classic arcade style game that features two styles of game-play: vertical-scrolling and side-scrolling. In the vertical-scrolling mode, players use the stylus to draw clouds in the sky, directing Baby Mario away from enemies and obstacles as he falls toward the ground. In the side-scrolling mode, players use the stylus to make Yoshi jump and throw eggs as he runs across Yoshi’s Island. There are no complicated controls to master. With simple yet precise Touch Screen controls, players of all ages and skill levels can easily enjoy the action.

Yoshi’s Touch & Go is scheduled for a release on March 14th. Unfortunately, we have no exact release date for Nintendogs.
