Urban Squalls Battalion launches
March 29th, 2005 (2:17pm) - Urban Squall announced today that Battalion, the massive multiplayer strategy war game, has begun selling premium subscriptions. While the majority of the game is completely free, subscribers will have access to a variety of benefits.
The premium subscriber features include access to over 50 new maps, the ability to form and manage squads, and the ability to gain networth. Networth gives players the ability to purchase items to help them in Battalion, as well as access to new avatars. Coming soon players will be able to use their networth to buy new colors for units, new special units, and more equipment. Additionally players will be able to use the map editor to create their own maps and upload them for everyone to enjoy. Subscriptions cost less than $4.49/month (USD). Networth can also be purchased directly for a nominal fee. Battalion features a no-download system where you can login and play from anywhere, instantly. It is a full sound and graphic game where you control a battalion of troops and resources and must use them tactically against your opponents. The game is entirely online and there is always someone available to be battled. You can play against the computer or against up to three other real players. Battalion is playable completely for free, subscriptions are not required to play premium maps or to purchase networth for equipment and feature access. Registration only takes a minute but mastering Battalion may take a lifetime. Give it a try at www.urbansquall.com. Reported by Elias Dounis on March 29th, 2005 (2:17pm) [From: Press Release]
