Oddworld Inhabitants downsizes
March 31st, 2005 (9:23am) - Oddworld Inhabitants, the development studio responsible for Oddworld game series, has confirmed that it will be closing it San Luis Obispo headquarters in California and downsizing the size of its development team, moving to the Bay Area.
Oddworld Inhabitants will now run under a different business model. The smaller team will now focus on developing ideas and concepts that will be outsourced to other development teams (most likely within EA). It will not develop its own properties. "Running the operation as we have been has limited the amount of opportunities we can pursue," comment Lorne Lanning, the companys co-founder, to GameSpy. "We have no regrets, but to continue this way, wed have to keep turning down opportunities weve always seen as the future." Reported by Elias Dounis on March 31st, 2005 (9:23am) [From: Gamesutra]
