SEGA opens up German office
April 1st, 2005 (12:48pm) - SEGA of Europe has established a new territory office in Munich, Germany. SEGA describes the opening of this new office as "a crucial step towards achieving strategic targets for the Western market." "Opening the Sega German office was merely a question of time, it is a logical step in our growth strategy," said Mike Hayes, Sega Europes president and COO.
In charge of this new establishment is Markus Wiedemann. Markus has previously been the general manager for Codemasters Germany and will be responsible for managing all marketing and PR for the German territory. "Markus is an enormously experienced and respected individual. In the coming months, he will build up a reliable team, focusing specifically on marketing and PR to implement our extensive plans for the German speaking market," he added. "It is a fascinating and unique challenge to help Sega regain the recognition and market share in Germany that it deserves," said Wiedemann. "Together with the strong European branch and a rapidly growing German team, we will make SEGA of Germany one of the major players in the local market."
