Embedded DRAM Technology to be utilized in Xbox 360
April 27th, 2005 (1:30am) - NEC Electronics Corporation has announced that Microsoft will utilize their leading-edge embedded DRAM (eDRAM) technology in the Xbox 360.
The high-performance eDRAM is designed by NEC Electronics as a key piece of the graphics subsystem and will allow the console to provide users with a stunning high-definition (HD) graphics experience. The eDRAM graphics chip is manufactured using NEC Electronics’ most advanced processes. NEC Electronics’ embedded DRAM plays a vital role in enabling the Xbox 360’s graphic engine’s performance.
