Sonic and Virtua Fighter Next-Gen Tech Demos
May 18th, 2005 (9:44pm) - At Segas E3 screening, as part of its technology demonstration, the company hinted towards next-gen installment of their Sonic the Hedgehog and Virtua Fighter. First, Sega showed some short video clips of Virtua Fighter characters running through some poses. As expected from a tech demo showcasing next-gen tech, the characters were very detailed. The Sonic tech demo, which had been called "Hedgehog," showcased Sonic running through a typical Sonic the Hedgehog-like forest and plains. Interestingly, a lot of the footage was demonstrated in first-person, jumping back to third-person on occasion when showing Sonic taking on some of Eggmans robots. The video ended with Sonic being surrounded by robots and then jumping into the heavens as he turned gold and became Super Sonic. Hopefully, these tech demos will turn into full fledged games for the Xbox 360 and other next-gen platforms. Reported by Elias Dounis on May 18th, 2005 (9:44pm)
