Iwata Chats Revolution With Reuters
May 20th, 2005 (11:24am) - Reuters had the opportunity to interview Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, who had some interesting things to say about the big Ns upcoming console. Apparantly we wont have to wait until next E3 to find out specifics. "We plan to give details on when we will launch it, what the price will be, what the controller will look like and how games can be played on it by the end of the year." Iwata also went on to mention the game downloading service, and that Nintendo is in discussions with some 3rd parties about making their games availible through it as well. Iwata said that Nintendo hasnt figured out how the pricing will work, and that they might charge by game, pre-paid cards in stores, or whether or not theyll give them away as promotions. He also mentioned the Gameboy Micro, and said he hopes "people see its value." He also mentioned that the device is more costly to produce than the GBASP, which brings a question of price to minds everywhere; how much will this thing cost?
