E3: Revolution to House New IP
May 20th, 2005 (8:25pm) - If the Nintendo GameCube was short on any one thing, it was short on original Intellectual Properties (IPs). The systems only original IP, Pikmin, while high quality, was unable to achieve the high status of Nintendos usual big marquee games like Mario, or Zelda.
Nintendos vice president of corporate affairs, Perrin Kaplan promises that the Revolution will have more. Or, at least the same amount. "Wait for Revolution," she said. "At least one new franchise. Brand new." Of course this isnt surprising, but one would hope that Nintendo would have more than one original IP in the works for a system named "the Revolution." Only time will tell.
