Horse and Musket 2: Prussia’s Glory Available For Preorder

May 23rd, 2005 (10:47am) - Shrapnel Games, in conjunction with developer Boku Strategy Games, is pleased to announce that the next game in the award-winning Horse and Musket 2 series of strategy titles, Prussia’s Glory, is now available for pre-order through the Shrapnel store, the Gamers Front. Gamers who pre-order will not only be the first to receive the game, but they will also enjoy saving five dollars off Prussia’s Glory normal retail price. To take advantage of this offer though gamers have to hurry, as the pre-order pricing will only be in place until June 20, 2005.

Prussia’s Glory is the second game in the brand new series of linear warfare, the Horse and Musket 2 series, developed by Boku Strategy Games working once again with noted designer Dave Erickson. The first game in the series, Dragoon: The Prussian War Machine, introduced gamers to the new series with a bang, focusing on several famous battles of Frederick the Great. Prussia’s Glory continues the examination of one of history’s greatest military minds, once again analyzing the battles of Frederick the Great.

Specifically Prussia’s Glory will detail several major engagements between the 18th century rivalry of Prussia and Austria, including the most well-known of Frederick’s
battles, Leuthen. In total there will be seventeen individual scenarios spread out over five battles, all done with the meticulous research that a Dave Erickson design is known for, and a superb AI thanks to Boku Strategy Games. With the emphasis on command and control that the Horse and Musket 2 series prides itself on, Prussia’s Glory boasts massive replayability and endless tactical considerations.

Prussia’s Glory will also graphically enhance the original Horse and Musket 2 engine found in Dragoon: The Prussian War Machine. There are new animated graphics, such as drummers that beat their drums as the infantry advances, new animations for weapon loading and reloading, and even a personal graphic for Hans von Zieten, noted Prussian Husar general. Additionally, several infantry and cavalry regiments have had their graphics upgraded to more historically accurate dress.

As a hearty "Thank you!" to everyone who purchased Dragoon: The Prussian War Machine you will find an exclusive scenario for that game on the Prussia’s Glory CD, entitled Action at Burkersdor 1762. It was designed strictly for Dragoon, as the visual enhancements found in Prussia’s Glory makes cross-compatibility between the two games an unfortunate impossibility. If you are interested in the multi-player aspects of both games be aware that you can only play against an opponent who also owns the same game, you cannot play a Dragoon versus Prussia’s Glory game.

Horse and Musket 2: Prussia’s Glory will be available only on the Windows OS. Remember, pre-order now to lock in the discounted price! For more information on
