May 23^rd, 2005 (1:35pm) - Peter Moore, VP of Microsoft Game Studios, has revealed that the company is in planning stages of holding an event to showcase the Xbox 360 and its software lineup later this year, prior to the release of the console at the year’s end.

This European showcase of the Xbox 360 will be called "X05." Microsoft has held previous "X" events in the past to showcase upcoming software for their Xbox console and to also make significant announcements about the company’s gaming developments, which includes the 2002 acquisition of UK developer Rare.

Unfortunately, it is not known when exactly Microsoft will host the event, or where it will take place. However, we hope to find more about that at a later time.
