Revolutions Virtual Console Download Service Not Free; Launch Date Announcement Before Years End
June 7th, 2005 (10:44am) - At a press conference today in Tokyo, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata addressed the recent rumors that the companys "virtual console" game download service for the Nintendo Revolution would be free when downloading Nintendo 1st party published videogames. Iwata-san confirmed that this download service would not be free and that Nintendo will offer many of the companys classic games through a variety of methods. One of these ways could be as a reward for users who buy a new Nintendo game for the Revolution and another could be that some games would be offered for a limited time through various campaign.
