Gary Grigsbys World at War Updated to v1.040!
June 9th, 2005 (8:57am) - Today, Matrix and 2by3 Games announced that Gary Grigsbys World at War has been updated. The new version, 1.040 is now available for download from the Matrix Games website and makes dozens of changes/classifications to the game. All patches for World at War can be downloaded the Game Section under Latest Downloads.
The main emphasis for this update was to patch up a few minor game bugs and rules online which caused minor issues with game balance. Some of the changes included fixing naval retreat patterns, some op-fire issues, advanced supply rules for attacking neural contries, attacking neutrals while the supply rules are turned off entirely, and a number of fixed involving op-fire. A secondary change that Matrix made was by making a decrease in CPU cycles whenever possible, hopefully making the gameplay improve somewhat on the lower-end PCs. Gary Grigsbys World at War is focused on WWII on a fully global scale and gives you the options to be at the top-ranked end of five powers: The Western Allies, China, Russia, Germany, or Japan. In World at War, you are able to command your army, navy and air force, and coordinate your attacks. You must gain supplies, resources, and factories to fuel your war machine. World at War has been honored as having an elegant and accessible game design with adjustable realism and detail, a feature not common in most games. World at War supports multiplayer with up to 4 human players online. Keep watch for other updates from Matrix Games. Download the patch for World of War (v1.040) from MatrixGames.com!
