Xbox 360 Slated for Release in Japan this December
June 15th, 2005 (5:45pm) - Microsofts Japanese Xbox chief Yoshihiro Maruyama has confirmed that the companys next-gen console, the Xbox 360, will hit stores in Japan this December- and has predicted they will outsell Sonys PS3.
Maruyama was quoted as saying "we will enter the Japanese market around December..". Japan has hands down been the toughest market for the Xbox to compete in- Japanese gamers havent been 100% captivated by its glory. The PS2 and the Gamecube has by far outsold the Xbox in Japan. However, that may change this time around. Maruyama explained to journalists that "this time, as well as launching first, we have focused on designing the machine and the games for the Japanese market." He also put down one other big prediction: "We expect to win," he concluded.
