Media Create’s Japanese Software and Hardware Sales for the June. 6 - June 12, 2005

June 18th, 2005 (2:10am) - According to the latest Media Create charts, ever since the release of Nintendogs, the Nintendo DS has been selling strongly, with other "non-games" such as Brain Training for Adults still going strong on the charts. Surprisingly, Brain Training for Adults sold better this week than it had the previous one, proving that the Nintendo DS is indeed providing news types of game experiences.

A good amount of new releases for the PS2 flooded the charts for the week, however, only time will tell if whether or not these games have enough appeal to stay on the charts for the next week or two.

On the hardware side of things, things haven’t changed much over the previous weeks. The Nintendo DS is topping hardware sales and followed the by Sony’s PS2 and PSP.

The past few weeks have shown a significant drop in PSP sales, most likely due to a lack of compelling software being released for the platform. Hopefully, sales of the console will improve once games are released that appeal to the Japanese audience.
