June 22^nd, 2005 (2:39am) - In early March, we reported that Geneon Entertainment had acquired the North American merchandising, television and home entertainment rights to the Viewtiful Joe anime and was in talks with major children’s television networks and programming blocks to secure broadcast distribution. Well, we can now confirm, through an official announcement made by Kids WB, that starting this fall the Viewtiful Joe anime will make its debut on Kids WB Saturday morning programming.

The Viewtiful Joe anime is based off Capcom’s popular and critically acclaimed videogame action series. Known for their classic beat ’em up style gameplay and unique visual style, both Viewtiful Joe and its sequel are available for the GameCube and PS2. Due to the critical success of the two games, Capcom is already underway with a Viewtiful Joe fighter for the GCN and PSP, and a completely original VJ adventure for the Nintendo DS.
