June 26^th, 2005 (1:55am) - Matrix Games has announced the availability of a new patch for Steel Panthers: World at War. Version 8.40 brings about 14 minor bug fixes and can be applied on top of v8.30 installations. This update works for both the freely downloadable full Steel Panthers: World at War as well as the General’s Edition collection of Mega-Campaigns.

The 8.40 patch makes a wide variety of improvements, mostly focused on the "long" World War 2 scenario. Additionally several adjustments were devised to improve the game, including reinforcement allocations, troop morale values when a leader is absent, and reduced visibility in sandstorms.
