Konami to Support All Next-Gen Platforms with Exclusive Content
June 29th, 2005 (8:36pm) - Michihiro Ishizuka, president of Konami Computer Entertainment Japan, has revealed in an interview with Japanese magazine Toyo Keizai that the company is in development with at least one original game product for the Xbox 360 and will be supporting all three next generation platforms. "[We will] provide one or two flagship titles for each machine, which will take advantage of their capabilities as next-generation consoles," said Ishizuka. "We will release a new Metal Gear as a flagship title for the PS3, and are developing an original product for the Xbox 360." In addition to this announcement, Ishzuka also mentioned that we should expect to see less Konami games on retail shelves in the near future in order for the company to focus their efforts on a smaller range of titles to increase their quality. "Most of the titles that dont require full use of technology will be released on multi-platforms, including PC. We will need to narrow down the number of titles that we release." We hope to bring you more on this possible Xbox 360 exclusive title from Konami and all next-gen Konami efforts in the near future.
