COLLADA approved as an open standard
July 30th, 2005 (4:00pm) - COLLADA (Collaborative Design Activity), an XML-based file format used for quick exchange of digital assets within the video game industry has been approved as an open standard by the Khronos Group. COLLADA is promoted by Sony Computer Entertainment to help offset the costs that are being associated with the next-gen (in particular, the Playstation 3).
