Battles of Normandy Receives Charles S. Roberts Award
August 9th, 2005 (3:02pm) - Strategic Studies Groups Battles in Normandy has received the prestigious Charles S. Roberts award for the winner of "20th Century Era Wargame." In second place within the same category was another title from the games publisher, Matrix Games, War in the Pacific, which was developed by Gary Grigsby and 2by3 Games.
David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, said, "I am pleased to accept this award on behalf of SSG and Matrix Games, with gratitude. If we have anything to say about it, 2005 will bring fans of this genre even more great titles than we had the fortune to see in 2004." Battles in Normandy is a part of the Decisive Battles Series, which has previously won a number of awards, including War Game of the Year from both Computer Gaming World and Gamespy, Editors Choice from PC Gamer, and The Wargamers Award for Excellence. The series features an operational setting with an easy to use interface.
