Fight the Flood! In video games and in life.

September 2nd, 2005 (11:58pm) - Bungie, the heavyweight game developing company behind the smash hit Halo series is joining in the fight to help victims of Hurricane Katrina by selling "Fight the Flood" T-Shirts. The T-shirt which can be purchased from the Bungie website for 19.99 is a white T-shirt with a picture of Master Chief kicking one of the mini Globular creatures with a logo underneath that reads "FIGHT THE FLOOD!"

The shirts are selling for $19.99 a piece and about $15 of that will go directly to the Hurricane Relief effort, through the American Red Cross. Not a penny profit will be made and every cent of cash will go to charity.

Not only is Bungie donating the proceeds of that specific product to the Red Cross but they are also donating all their store profits from the month of September to the American Red Cross. So anything purchased from the online Bungie store will contribute to the disaster relief effort.

Thats not all either because later this month, Bungie, in conjunction with the website Halo.Bungie.Org will co-host a special charity auction. Up for auction will be rare and unusual Bungie and Halo stuff and of course, all proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross. Specific items mentioned include large Master Chief statues (signed by the team), the original "Fight the Flood" concept artwork signed by Bungie artists, a "Jam Board" which is a piece of foam core that’s been put on the wall for the artists to doodle, sign, write, customize however they want, an action figure mega pack (tons of JoyRide action figures all crammed into one big box), and plenty of signed game posters, Xbox game discs and more.

A specific date for the auction is expected soon.
