September 14^th, 2005 (5:19pm) - Nintendo of America’s vice president of sales Randy Peretzman announced he’ll be retiring. His replacement will be Nintendo’s current director of sales, Kevan Wilson.

Peretzman is widely regarded as one of the key reasons Nintendo became so successful during the late 80’s and early 90’s, with his hands in everything from the launch of the original NES, all the way up to Nintendogs.

"Randy has made significant contributions to the success of every new hardware and software launch," said Nintendo of America president Tatsumi Kimishima.

Wilson will take over for Peretzman on January 6, 2006.
