Diplomacy Gone Gold
September 27th, 2005 (3:32pm) - Paradox Interactive announced today that their next PC strategy game, Diplomacy, has gone gold and will be shipping to retail stores across North America on October 4, 2005. The rest of Europe will follow later in October and November. The suggested retail price is $39.99 (? 39.95) and has been rated: E for Everyone.
Diplomacy is a world where empires rise and fall at a word and where careful negotiation can defeat even the most menacing military. Twentieth century Europe stands as the battlefield on which seven major international powers will wage war in an attempt to reign supreme. Lead any one of them to victory using whatever means necessary, but keep in mind that each nation has its own unique advantages and drawbacks. "Diplomacy has been hailed as one of the best board games in the world and it has been great to work with Hasbro and Atari on this project", says Fredrik Lindgren, Director of Publishing at Paradox Interactive. "The PC game will open up new possibilities of Diplomacy play and the legacy of Diplomacy will be carried on to new generations of players". Paradox Interactives PC adaptation offers single player capabilities, as well as multiplayer options to play over the Internet or via LAN. A graphical negotiation language crosses language barriers and allows for efficient communication with Human and AI players alike. Diplomacy uses online servers with matchmaking services; ranking ladders and more and players will be smoothly introduced to play through the in-depth tutorial.
