New Children of Mana details revealed
Three main characters revealed and new information regarding the game's weapon system. October 14th, 2005 (6:23pm) - Children of Mana for the Nintendo DS is the first game of Square Enixs planned revival of the Seiken Densetsu (Secret of Mana) series and its scheduled to see a release this winter in Japan. The game had just been revealed recently and Square Enix has been rather quiet regarding specific details about the game but as we come closer to its release, new information is beginning to trickle out. The latest issue of Jump magazine has revealed the first details regarding the games characters and weapon system.
There are three primary characters in the game and there names are Frick, Tumble, and Pop. Frick is a 15-year old boy who lives in Illusia, the main country in which the Secret of Mana series takes place. Frick is expected to be the games main hero as he is cheerful, daring and full of energy. Tumble, a 16-year old girls, the honest and responsible character, and Pop is a 9-year old yougin who fears nothing; Pop does this the way he sees fit... Aside from these three, Children of Mana is expected to feature a large cast of characters. In regards to the games weapon system, the magazine has revealed that players will be able to map different weapons to the DS face buttons, allowing players to switch between a sword, bow, or even magic-based attacks on the fly. Additionally, it has been revealed that each weapon has a super movie of sorts that can be used once players fill up each characters "Fever Gauge," which can be done by defeating enemies on the field.
