X3: Reunion gone gold for the PC

October 17th, 2005 (4:28pm) - Enlight, today announced that X3: Reunion has gone gold for the PC. The sequel to the award-winning PC title X2: The Threat, X3: Reunion is an in-depth space simulation that thrusts players into an epic battle for control of the universe. The latest graphic technology, a brand-new economic system, and more than 200 newly designed models and 1,000 interactive objects combine for the most thrilling and immersive X experience yet. X3: Reunion is scheduled to ship to stores on October 21, 2005.

"In X3: Reunion, the X universe has been expanded to include more of what players love – new challenges, items, enemies, and more graphically-stunning worlds to explore," said Paul Lombardi at Enlight. "The sophisticated economic system allows for in-depth, multifaceted strategy, as players will now be able to dominate enemies with both firepower and commerce."

Features for X3: Reunion Include:

• Latest DirectX 9 graphical technology: 2.0 pixel shader technology is used to create realistic reflections across a variety of surface types, while bump maps and specula maps add detail to the geometry of objects.
• Brand-new economy system allows for more imaginative ways to conquer your foes via commerce. Factories are constructed by non player characters, which can freely trade; wars in sectors affect the universal economy, while opportunities bring challenges to both novice and experienced players.
• More than 200 newly designed models including factories, stations and starships, and more than 1,000 interactive objects.
• New graphical user interface prevents less screen obstruction and faster access to all game options.
