100 Million PS2 Consoles Shipped Worldwide
Sony reaches a new milestone.  November 30th, 2005 (3:27pm) - Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that over one-hundred million PlayStation 2 game consoles have been shipped worldwide as of November 29th, 2005. This milestone had been reached in five years and nine months, which shatters the previous record for market penetration, held by the original PlayStation.
The number of systems shipped in Japan and Asia is 22.22 million units, 37.14 million units in European territories, and 40.64 million in North America. Reported by Elias Dounis on November 30th, 2005 (3:27pm)
