Dead or Alive 4 Fails to Boost Xbox 360 Sales in Japan

Is the 360 itself DOA?

January 5th, 2006 (1:57pm) - It had been believed that Team NINJA’s Dead or Alive 4 could boost sales of the Xbox 360 console in Japan after its rather disappointing launch in the territory, however, it seems that this is not the case.

Dead or Alive 4 went on sale last week and unsurprisingly the game has failed to cause a significant jump in 360 hardware sales. The game only managed to sell approx. 60,000 units and most of those who picked up the game are believed to be gamers who purchased the console at launch, since only 10,000 pieces of the Xbox 360 console were sold that very same week.

Total sales of the Xbox 360 in Japan is expected to be around 75,000.

Microsoft has failed to comment on the Xbox 360’s state in Japan.
