An Old Foe Returns for Twilight Princess

Nintendo's Yoshiyuki Oyama tells fans to expect the best Zelda game to date.

January 24th, 2006 (6:37pm) - In the latest issue of Nintendo Power, Yoshiyuki Oyama reveals that Ganon will make an appearance in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess as Link’s nemesis. Ganon has been a staple villain the Zelda series; the battles with Link against Ganon is what Nintendo believes represents the ultimate battle between good and evil, with link being the ultimate good and Ganon the ultimate form of evil.

"Finally, no discussion of TP’s enemies can end without mentioning Ganon. I know that everyone’s wondering what’s going on with Link’s old nemesis. All I can say now is, we’re preparing more than you could possibly ever, ever, ever expect," said Oyama.

Oyama continues by hinting that Twilight Princess will be the most challenging and greatest Zelda game made to date. He stated that the felt the enemies in past Zelda games have been too easy and that Nintendo hopes to ramp up the challenge level with Twilight Princess.

"And how will my monsters ensure that Twilight Princess is the greatest Zelda game ever? Wait and see. You won’t be disappointed."

While it is unlikely we won’t see much of Twilight Princess until E3, we’ll be sure to bring you readers any new developments, including more information about the game’s Revolution-exclusive control method.
