Over 3 Million Connections to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection
Nintendo's UK general manager reveals that Nintendo's move into online gaming has proven to be successful for the company so far. January 24th, 2006 (7:07pm) - This afternoon at an event in London, Nintendos United Kingdom general manager David Yarnton revealed a figure that states that over three million connections have been made to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection using the Nintendo DS worldwide. This number is thought to represent more than half a million actual users.
Yarton has also mentioned that thousands of new hot spots are being equipped for DS use in the coming months around the world in locations such as cafes, pubs and transport stations. Yarton made these announcements at a Science Museum in order to promote upcoming DS games such as Electroplankton and the upcoming Brain Training games. Nintendo and this particular museum have agreed to a sponsorship that will promote Nintendo game products and technologies over the next four years. The Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection will be the future service which will bring owners of Nintendos next generation Revolution console online.
