Stand Up and Take a Bow!
A deceptively cheery headline! Updated info on the home console releases of "The Movies". February 6th, 2006 (10:33pm) - Activision announced today that the home console versions of The Movies have been cancelled. The reasoning behind it is, simply, because the PC version failed to make any kind of significant impact on the sales charts.
Lionhead Studios-developed The Movies allows players to build and manage a virtual motion picture studio throughout the ages of Hollywood, and even provides players with the ability to create their own customized short films. The game took nearly two years to develop, and was met with good critical reviews, but general disinterest from PC gaming enthusiasts. The Movies has already seen a slight price reduction on the PC, now for sale at most retailers for $39.99. Reported by Adrian Santiago on February 6th, 2006 (10:33pm)
