Battlefield 2: Modern Combat Tournament Coming to a Close
Winners receive a grand prize of $250,000. February 14th, 2006 (2:09pm) - The finals of the Electronic Arts Battlefield 2: Modern Combat "Best of the Battlefield" tournament. The massive "Best of the Battlefield" online tournament will come to a close as the two finalist teams (10 players each) go head to head to determine who will take home the grand prize of $250,000!
The tournament, which is taking place both on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox consoles, began in November. From the 200+ teams that competed to qualify for the finals, two teams emerged as the best: Team Legends and Team Professional Skills. The two final teams, or clans, will go head-to-head, live, for bragging rights and a Grand Prize of $250,000 on Friday, February 17th. The finals will be played on the Xbox console. Prizing:
· Grand Prize: $250K - One cash purse will be awarded to the team that wins their platform bracket and the championship. · First Prize: $50K - One cash purse will be awarded to the team that wins their platform bracket but loses the championship. EA will host Team Legends and Team Professional Skills – two teams of ten members who beat out over 200 teams to get to the finals.
