Tecmo Announces Revolution Launch Title
A port of an online PC golf title. February 15th, 2006 (3:13pm) - Tecmo has announced that it will be contributing a home console port of the popular Pangya golf series, tentatively titled Skatto Golf Pangya Revolution, for the launch on Nintendos Revolution game console.
The Pangya series is a popular golf game akin to Sony Computer Entertainments Hot Shots Golf series and is available in Japan and Korea as a free game for download and play on Windows PC. The series is developed by Koreas Ntreev Soft and has made quite a splash in both Korea and Japan. Tecmo and Ntreev hope to further expand the popularity and reach of the series with this home console version. Tecmos announcement regarding the game has no mention of online play but due to the nature of the game on PC it is likely that this Revolution version will indeed feature online play thanks to Nintendos new efforts to offer online gaming for owners of its game platforms. It is expected that Skatto Golf Pangya Revolution will feature a Revolution-exclusive control method that involves the swinging of the Revolutions controller like an actual golf club. While Tecmo has stated that the game will launch with the console in Japan, when this launch could be is still up in the air. The earliest we could expect to see the Revolution to launch is this summer in Japan. Reported by Elias Dounis on February 15th, 2006 (3:13pm)
