Bomberman Matures for the Xbox 360

He's no longer your friendly neighborhood Bomberman.

February 15th, 2006 (4:16pm) - The latest issue of Japan’s Famitsu Magazine has revealed the first information and images of Hudson Soft’s Xbox 360 effort in the Bomberman series, Bomberman Act Zero Shockingly, Bomberman is no longer the cute and cuddly character we’re all familiar with... He’s transformed into a mechanical beast who looks like a cross between Nemesis from Resident Evil 3 and some sort of mechanical Space Pirate you’d encounter in Retro Studio’s Metroid Prime games.

From the scans included below, it seems like much of the classic Bomberman multiplayer gameplay has been retained, but the article clearly says "First Person Bommer" on one page, which leads us to believe that some sort of first-person gameplay element is expected to make its way into the game. No other information is available at this time but we expect more to surface once the Famitsu article is translated.

Bomberman Act Zero will see a release in Japan sooner than expected, as it’s currently scheduled to launch on May 25th. No word on a North American release but the game is likely to make its way overseas.
