PSP Price To Be Lowered

Sony is lowering the price of the PSP in the US and Europe with a new package

March 15th, 2006 (3:51pm) - Sony will be releasing a new PSP package March 22nd in the US and Europe at a lower price.

The new package includes a PSP system, an AC adaptor, and a battery for a new suggested retail price of $199.99.

"The PSP is the first portable device to deliver upon the promise of console quality game play, and together with the ever evolving multimedia capabilities, provides consumers with functionality never seen before in a portable device," says Jack Tretton, co-COO of SCEA. "This new price point demonstrates our ongoing commitment to provide the best entertainment experiences, at affordable prices."

Sony also says that they’ll be releasing a USB Camera around the one year anniversary of the system, though no other details have been revealed on that.
