GDC 06: New Demo for Resistance Shown
Game formerly known as I-8 shown in real-time. March 22nd, 2006 (9:47pm) - At GDC, Sony Computer Entertainment showed a new demo for Resistance, the game formerly known as I-8.
Developer Insomniac Games, which had also developed the Ratchet and Clank series for Playstation 2, showed the game in a more complete form than what was seen at E3 2005. In the demo, gameplay was shown with new weapons, not unlike Ratchet and Clank but with a realistic spin to the idea behind them. As for the realistic aspects of the game, body parts flew and rolled on the ground. Also shown off were effects like smoke trails on grenades, tactical troop movements, and enemies that came from the ceilings as the lead character ran down a corridor. Insomniac was said to love the Blu-rays contribution of tremendous space to gaming. The team also loves the multiple simultaneous processor units.
