Gametap Launches At National Show In Atlanta
Fun, Prizes, Sonic and Knuckles for everyone! April 10th, 2006 (1:24pm) - GameTap, the new broadband entertainment and video game network from Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., will take center stage at the NCTAs Cable Game Arena at The National Show in Atlanta, April 9-11. As the Game Arenas premiere sponsor, GameTap will keep the action going throughout the show in the "center ring" with tournaments, prizes and special guest appearances by such beloved characters as Sonic and Knuckles.
Inside the 7,000-square foot Cable Game Arena, visitors will enjoy hands-on experience with more than 25 of the 400+ games now available on GameTap and enjoy original GameTap TV programming at 40 experiential kiosks in the Game Arena and throughout the exhibit floor. Among the original GameTap TV shows to be featured are "Space Ghost Coast To Coast," with Apple Computer co-founder Steve Wozniak and Pong creator Al Alcorn in the hot seat, "Tomb Raider Outtakes," "Splinter Cell Trailer," and a dozen others. Among the games playable on GameTap during the show are Galaga, Hydro Thunder, Prince of Persia, Crazy Taxi, Virtua Fighter 2 and Pac-Man. Visitors will also be able to "go large" by playing GameTap titles on giant, 10-foot plasma screens powered by the new Intel Viiv™ technology. GameTap tournaments featuring three popular games – Pac Man, Hydro Thunder, and Sonic and Knuckles – will be played out on multiple giant screens, with top-scoring gamers taking home prize packages daily.
