Valve Announces the Development of Xbox 360 Games
Just a tease... no specifics revealed. April 26th, 2006 (5:22pm) - Valve Software, the development studio behind the critically acclaimed Half-Life series,has announced the development of "future game releases" for the Xbox 360, suggesting theres more than one game in development at the studio for Microsofts next-generation game console.
These upcoming games will be powered by a customized version of Source, the technology that powered Valves best-selling Half-Life 2. "The Valve 360 products are being designed to leverage the Xbox 360s advanced graphics hardware and integration with Xbox Live online game service." stated the company in this mornings press release. "The combination of Source and the 360 provides game designers the chance to create powerful entertainment experiences," said Gabe Newell, president and co-founder of Valve. "Whether developing a traditional FPS, RTS, RPG or delving into new genres, the Xbox 360 is a great platform for expanding Source and our game experiences."
