April 29^th, 2006 (7:09pm) - For quite some time, Microsoft Game Studios (MGS) executives, including Peter Moore, have gone on the record to say that we shouldn’t expect to see Halo 3 at E3, but the fans have always thought otherwise and rumors are running rampant that the next iteration in the Halo series will indeed make an appearance at E3 during Microsoft’s press conference on Tuesday, May 9th.

Will it be playable and featured on the E3 show-floor, however? Well, the answer to that is "no." Rumor has it that MGS will only showcase a two minute teaser trailer of the game that will feature a "breathtaking" battle on Earth. This footage is likely to be done completely in real-time to showcase the graphical strengths of the Xbox 360. Of course, Microsoft has denied any truth to this current rumor.

While Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates has said in the past that Halo 3 will be ready to counter the launch on the PlayStation 3, it’s now expected that the game won’t coincide with the PS3’s release, which is expected to be this Winter, but will instead be ready for a release in 2007 and likely the holiday season of 2007.

Of course, we cannot confirm or deny these rumors since they are just that but it would be foolish to not expect to see something of Halo at this upcoming E3. In less than two weeks the event begins and its sure to be a very exciting time for all
