Tomb Raider: Legend Coming to the GameCube and DS
No Wii version planned. However, Eidos will support Nintendo's new generation game platform. May 2nd, 2006 (9:34pm) - Tomb Raider: Legend has brought Lara Croft back into the spotlight. The game successfully managed to please critics and fans of the series and it has been revealed that Eidos will be brining the game to the GameCube and DS later this year, joining the already released PlayStation 2, PC and Xbox 360 versions of the game.
Interestingly enough, IGN contacted Eidos about the possibility of Wii version of the game being in development, but Eidos denied any truth to such rumors. This comes as a surprise seeing that the GameCube is no longer a platform that most third parties would be interested in releasing games for, especially with its much more attractive successor coming out this Fall. Eidos had actually dropped support of the GameCube platform early on in the consoles life so it comes as a surprise to hear of Tomb Raider: Legend being in development for the platform. However, later this week Eidos will officially announce that they will support the Wii, adding to the already strong list of third-party supporters of the platform.
