May 3^rd, 2006 (12:50pm) - The long awaited sequel to the Super Nintendo’s Earthbound (Mother 2), Mother 3, final hit Japanese retail shelves last week and made an impressive sales debut, selling just over 200,000 units in its first week. With sales this strong, you would think that the likelihood of seeing another sequel in the series would be very high, however, series creator Shigesato Itoi revealed today, through his very own blog site, that he has no plans to make another Mother sequel.

When asked if he would be making any more games, Itoi responded "not Mother 4."

The Mother series has been a cult favorite amongst Nintendo fans for many years. The series has always been held in high regards due to its quirkiness and critically acclaimed gameplay.
