Metal Gear SOLID on the PSP
Kojima confirms Snake Eater "sequel" for the PSP. Not a card game! May 8th, 2006 (8:07pm) - The infamous game director of Metal Gear Solid fame, Hideo Kojima, revealed at his official blog site that there will a new Metal Gear Solid game for the PSP, not be confused with the Metal Gear Acid card-based strategy game. This new game in the MGS series will take place six years after the events of the PS2s Metal Gear Solid 3.
The game will take place in the year 1970 in which Big Boss is given the task of eliminating a renegade unit by the name of "Fox," which leads to the formation of the "Fox Hound," the faction of elite soldiers that stars in the MGS series. It has been said that the game will somehow help lead into the events of Metal Gear Solid 4. In the game, players will control a number of troops led by Big Boos in its single-player portion/ story mode. As Big Boss, players are to amass a large army and when each unit is killed, like in Nintendos Fire Emblem series, they are dead forever. Also, if you choose to give up in a batlle, you will lost the ability to use particular troops. Another little detail mentioned is that the games graphical quality should be comparable to the PS2 MGS games. The games tentative release has not been revealed at the moment, but we expect to hear more about the game as E3 progresses, including an official announcement by Konami.
