Activision Releases Call of Duty 2: Game of the Year Edition

Reprint of Xbox 360 launch title now available which includes new content and multiplayer maps.

May 15th, 2006 (7:21pm) - Providing fans of the Xbox 360 with access to fresh, new content and behind-the-scenes access to the # 1 Xbox 360 launch title, Activision today announced the release of Call of Duty2: Game of the Year. In addition to Infinity Ward’s original Call of Duty 2 game, the special retail edition will also include a token that can be redeemed for the recently released Call of Duty 2: Skirmish Map Pack, two new multiplayer maps (a 400 Microsoft Point value) currently available through Xbox Live Marketplace. Call of Duty2: Game of the Year will also include a bonus DVD containing "making of" footage, historic interviews and commentaries and mission walkthroughs from the developers at Infinity Ward.

"With the Call of Duty 2: Game of the Year special edition, we’re providing Xbox 360 gamers access to more great content," said Dusty Welch, vice president of global brand management, Activision, Inc. "With a bonus DVD and access to new multiplayer maps, the Game of the Year edition delivers the most intense Call of Duty 2 experience to date, all in one package."

The sequel to Infinity Ward’s 2003 Game of the Year and the # 1 Xbox 360 launch title, Call of Duty 2 delivers an unparalleled portrayal of the cinematic intensity and chaos of battle as seen through the eyes of ordinary soldiers fighting together in epic WWII conflicts. Call of Duty 2 is powered by a proprietary new engine featuring striking new visuals, advanced A.I. technology, the most authentic squad combat and astonishing action in new historic campaigns. The sequel offers more immense, more intense and more realistic battles than ever, as players experience four individual soldier stories to overcome insurmountable odds in multiple campaigns.

Call of Duty 2 for the Xbox 360 is rated "T" (TEEN – blood, mild language and violence) by the ESRB and is available nationwide.
