Upcoming Xbox Live Update Detailed

Play games while downloading files from the marketplace and some more dashboard tweaking.

May 25th, 2006 (12:33pm) - New information has been leaked in regards to an upcoming Xbox Live update Microsoft has in store for Xbox 360 owners. The new update will feature some of the most significant Xbox Live updates to ever be released, including an "Active Download" feature which will allow players to download files from the Xbox Live Marketplace while still being able to play games, listen to music or watch movies. Additionally, it’s been rumored that users will be able to pause downloads.

Alongside this active download feature, tweaks to the dashboard are also planned, including the option to boot directly to the dashboard with a game or movie inserted, without having it automatically start-up.

The update was originally scheduled to have been released this past Tuesday but was pulled last minute, however, it’s expected that Microsoft will have the update ready relatively soon, and we’ll keep you posted on when that will happen.
