American History Lux Profits Go to Charity

Memorial Day charity event by Sillysoft Games donates profits to charity.

May 29th, 2006 (9:08am) - In honor of Memorial Day, Sillysoft Games (www.sillysoft.net) has announced that 100 percent of American History Lux proceeds from now until Friday, June 2nd will be donated to charity. Specifically to the Carter Center (www.cartercenter.org), which seeks to "wage peace, fight disease, and build hope."

American History Lux is a new strategy game that takes players through the history of the ten wars that have most shaped America. Each war comes as a map containing the real geographical layout marking the important cities, forts, and regions of the conflict. It’s available to download now for PC, Macintosh, and Linux.

"It’s easy to gloss over the harsh reality of conflict when playing a computer war game. Sillysoft feels a responsibility to give something back in honor of the men and women who have fought and died to bring us the liberties that we take for granted every day," said Sillysoft President Dustin Quasar Sacks. "This charity fundraiser is a great way for people to donate to a good cause and get a fun game that will teach them some history at the same time."

Sillysoft has set up a special Memorial Day webpage with information on the charity sale, and where the final amount raised will be posted. http://sillysoft.net/ahl/memorial/
