Half Life 2: Episode One Available

The Half Life 2 expansion pack, Half Life 2: Episode One finally has hit retail and costs less than twenty bones. Also, Valve’s Steam service has been updated.

June 2nd, 2006 (10:43am) - Valve Software has taken the lock off of digital distritbution program Steam for Half Life 2: Episode One today. The title is now ready for purchase on both Steam, and at stores nationwide, and costs $19.95.

Half Life 2: Episode One is the first expansion installment to follow up Valve’s smash hit Half Life 2 and is currently a PC only title. The expansion picks up right at the cliffhanger conclusion of the 2004 blockbuster, but moves the action away from City 17.

Steam itself has also seen several updates. The friends feature has been upgraded from beta-testing, the back-up utility has become faster and more reliable, and the Source engine itself has received content that will eventually support unspecified upcoming features.
