Oblivion Gets More Downloadable Content

Get set to add to that one hundred plus hour quest as the world of Oblivion grows larger for the fifth time.

June 2nd, 2006 (11:09am) - After Bethesda Softworks put out what many consider to be an epic RPG masterpiece with Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion on the Xbox 360 and PC, gamers put over a hundred hours into the mammoth world offered up in the game. Four downloadable quests later, Bethesda hopes they’re hungry for more, as Oblivion is set to receive it’s fifth, and most substantial update yet.

The new quest involves a mage’s quest to find a Daedric Artifact known as Mehrunes’ Razor. The Razor has the ability to kill enemies instantly, and this mage intends to use the Razor to overthrow the empire. It’s up to the player to stop this mage.

The quest will cost PC users an unprecidented $2.99, with the price still undetermined for the Xbox 360. Gamers likely won’t mind paying this though, due to the amount of content added in the update. Aside from the fact that the new dungeon will be bigger than any in the regular game, players will also earn the Razor itself. Also added will be seventeen new magic items, and a dozen new books, journals and notes to read.
