EA Acquires Mythic Entertainment
Mythic to become EA Mythic.  June 21st, 2006 (11:06am) - EA has acquired Mythic Entertainment. Mythic Entertainment is an MMORPG maker -- Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning being their most recent MMORPG in development, due in 2007.
The move is seen to be EA’s way to compete against Vivendi Universal subsidary Blizzard’s World of Warcraft in the MMORPG market share. World of Warcraft has over 6.5 million subscribers worldwide, resulting in a large sum of money that would interest any company into taking part in competing in. The Virginia-based Mythic Entertainment will be renamed EA Mythic and focus on making MMORPGs. Mythic is also known for the Dark Age of Camelot series.
