Traditional gameplay controls only available in GameCube version of Zelda. August 16th, 2006 (8:26pm) - During a Camp Hyrule chat, Nintendos George Harrison, the senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications, confirmed that, while the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will be available for both the GameCube and Wii, only the GameCube version of the game will feature traditional gameplay controls similar to past 3D Zelda titles. Harrison shot down rumors of the Wii game supporting both traditional and a Wii-exclusive control methods.
"The GCN controller will be able to play the GCN version on the Wii console, but will not be able to play the Wii version," said Harrison. So, if youre not looking forward to give Twilight Princess a chance using the revamped Wii-exclusive control method which made its debut at E3 this past May, youre going to have to pick up the GameCube version of the game. However, it should be noted that only the Wii version of the hotly anticipated Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will run in a 16x9 widescreen mode.
