April 21^st, 2008 (9:48pm) - The beta launch for Metal Gear Online had originally been scheduled to launch earlier today for the PlayStation 3, however, Konami is reporting that heavy traffic to its servers, from those downloading the beta across the globe, have lead to the publisher delaying the launch of the highly anticipated multiplayer game till the weekend of April 26th.

It also be noted, that given the severity of the situation, this new launch date is subject to change if these issues continue to arise. In order to compensate for the delay, the Metal Gear Online Beta period has been a extended one week, now ending on May 11th.
