Wii Tops NPD Hardware for April
Nintendos momentum as strong as ever. May 15th, 2008 (5:02pm) - The Official NPD sales results for the month of March are in and, once again, the Wii is on the top of the charts, outselling both the PS3 and Xbox 360 combined, selling through 700,000 units. Despite the launch of the hotly anticipated Grand Theft Auto IV, the Wiis momentum failed to buckle.
Following the release Nintendo announced that it has sold a total of 9.5 Wii game consoles in North America alone and announcement had also been made by Microsoft that the Xbox 360 has been the first console to reach 10 million sold in the Americas. Despite the fact, its expected that the Wii will surpass the Xbox 360s NA hardware total by next month. The US hardware sales figures for the month of April were as follows: 1. Wii - 714,200 2.
